Aishatu Ibrahim K. Bura
An experienced Reporter and a Seasoned Journalist, Aishatu Ibrahim Bura is also a veteran civil servant. With a Degree in Mass communication from a renowned University, her practice of journalism spanned over 25 years with a focus on societal and humanitarian issues, specifically the Protection and Education of Persons of Concern (POCs) including Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs), individuals who have been victims of Sexual and Gender Based Violence (GBV) and the polio eradication awareness campaign for children and vulnerable people who have minimal understanding of the polio vaccines.
As a passionate Journalist, Mrs. Bura has championed causes related to Peaceful co-existence. Boko Haram is situated in her State, where she has been a consistent voice for religious moderation and reporting on activities of Boko Haram, with an objective lens. An enthusiastic learner and avid reader, her daily routine, amongst other things, includes the facilitation of trainings in the areas of communication, writing reports, presentation of programs on radio and television as well as anchoring discussions programs on a wide range of issues that touch on Peace, Unity, and Harmony.
Mrs. Bura was the immediate past Vice President of the Nigerian Union of Journalists covering the Northeast of Nigeria, which gave her another platform to participate in a wide range of programs including workshops, meetings, and advocacy activities. Additionally, Mrs. Bura serves as the information officer of the Borno State Pilgrims Welfare Board, responsible for humanitarian issues of Pilgrims to the Holy Land of Mecca. In the several positions and responsibilities she juggles, she, indeed, possesses several capacities of advising, designing and developing culturally sensitive materials, shaping organizational focus and advice on programs and standpoints for leadership and institutional direction in multiple circumstances. She enjoys reading, travelling, and meeting people and is known for her cooking talents.
