HUMAN RIGHTS

HUMAN RIGHTS

Human beings have a fundamental, inherent right to life. Regardless of who we are, regardless of the social position into which we are born, we are entitled to inalienable human rights. Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights says, “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.” The inherent right to life is often jeopardized by economic hardship; prolonged oppression; religious, ethnic and cultural conflict; political corruption; poverty; and poor education. The Peace Institute upholds the basic right to life by combating these structural obstacles and rekindling the wellspring of peace that exists within each human being.
